Review Proposed Administrative Rules and Regulations

  • Review of rules and regulations submitted by state agencies during the public comment period, as required by KSA 77-436.
    • KSA 2023 Supp. 77-436 includes, “[a]ll proposed rules and regulations shall be reviewed by the joint committee on administrative rules and regulations during the public comment period required by K.S.A. 77-421, and amendments thereto.”
    • In addition, KSA 77-440 requires specified agencies to submit reports to the JCARR on whether each of their rules and regulations is necessary for the implementation and administration of state law or may be revoked.
